PaulinemcloughlinIBCLC

Hello there, Pauline McLoughlin here. I am a lactation consultant (IBCLC), midwife, nurse, birth trauma resolution therapist and educator. Providing breastfeeding and infant feeding support, caring for women, parents and families has always been at the core of my professional life.

Having spent many years living and working with birthing in Ireland, Britain, and Australia, I moved to Sligo a number of years ago with my new-born son and partner. A few years later, I home birthed two more children. From personal experience, I appreciated the value of peer support. Together, with a group of like-minded women, we established a local breastfeeding support group in Sligo which ran for many years.

My passion for birth and breastfeeding has inspired me in all the work I do, whether it was as a nurse and midwife in hospitals, a birth centre, and now, in Sligo town as a practice nurse and midwife. I successfully qualified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2011 and more recently as a birth trauma resolution therapist. With that qualification under my belt, I set up a private lactation consultation service in 2012 and in 2023 added birth trauma resolution therapy to my services.

Over the years I have shared my passion, expertise, and knowledge with many women and their families, GP trainees, public health nurses, practice nurses, and yoga teachers. I now look forward to sharing this expertise with you on your feeding and parenting journey.
